Engineering Wizards: Beyond LEGO

17 Sessions — Ages: 10-12

[We running this lab every Mon at 6 pm OR Sat at 2.30 PM]
Duration: 90 mins

Using the LEGO WeDo 2.0 programming interface and electronic components, students will build their first robots and program the movements and reactions of robots to their surroundings.

Each subsequent lesson will provide an immersive exploration into the history of technology, spanning from ancient times to the modern era. Through this well-structured curriculum, children will gain fundamental knowledge of programming and robotics, empowering them to apply logical and mathematical abilities to practical problem-solving.

Also, classes accommodate knowledge checkpoints in a gaming manner.

Course classes:
1. Robbie: Distance sensor, gear transmission: gearing up, gearing down.
2. Eagle: Tilt Sensor. Belt transmission and cranking mechanism
3. Fish: Orientation by Line, Distance sensor, gear transmission
4. Spider: Walking Robot
5. Vibration Walker: Vibration
6. Robotic Arm: Picking Up Objects
7. Forklift: Tilt Sensor
8. Tower Crane: Tilt Sensor
9. Truck Crane: Gearbox
10. Robot Mailer: Distance Sensor
11. Robot Sorter: Color Scanner
12. Robot Waiter: Orientation by Line
13. Robot Artist: Loops
14. Catapult: Timed Launch
15. Plane Scout: Measuring Distance
16. Mars Rover: Wheel and Suspension
17. Wind Generator: Speed Measurement

Over the course, kids will familiarize themselves with mechanisms, gears, friction, cranks, etc. In addition, kids will learn basic programming approaches. Those engineering lessons are designed to inspire and teach.

In every lesson kids will find:

extensive introduction illustrated with graphics and animations,
detailed instructions for building the model,
step-by-step programming guide with a comprehensive explanation
educational mini-challenges and other extras,
interactive quizzes
